Our Story

In 1966, Walter Mueller set out to build Medicine Hat’s first self serve car wash. Through the years, it has seen many Hatter’s and traveler’s alike stop in at “Sof Spra” to clean their vehicles, as well as fill with gas and purchase coffee from the convenience store, which is now our office. In 2017, at the age of 81, Walter decided it was time for him to “retire”, and sold the car wash to the Dyck family. The conditions? That he were allowed to come every day and “drink coffee and visit with the customers”.

As first time car wash owner’s, it has been an honor to restore Walter’s dream to it’s former glory. After over a year of renovations, Soft Spray Carwash reopened, washing our first vehicle in June of 2018. Many “wrinkles” have been ironed out, as well as hurdles crossed, to get to where we are today. We strive to continue to provide you the best wash experience possible, and will continue to maintain and upgrade our facility to not only keep up with your washing needs, but stay ahead of them.
